Rebuilt in 2023 by Pat Gardner, G-BMZP is the first Cricket to have a Rotax 912UL.

Modified with an extended keel and horizontal stabiliser it trims hands off and is super stable.

Subsequently fitted with Mk4 main wheels, a keel mounted stick and 24′ Razor blades it is a delight to fly.

Aircraft

Great to see Dave Organ and his Cricket at the LAA rally at Sywell. One of only 5 gyro’s that flew in amongst over a thousand aircraft.

Dave gave up flying the Gyro and donated her to the Weston Super Mare Helicopter Museum.

For anyone interested there is also a Gyro museum at Inverness where there are a number of interesting examples of these fascinating and capable aircraft.

Gyro Technics GT VX2

Progressing well is the testing of Gyro Technics GT VX2 single seater. Francis Moyle has been busy preparing all the testing jigs etc.

The test results will then be sent to LAA HQ for a detailed analysis.

You may have seen the Gyro in question at the 2025 LAA rally, beautifully CNC engineered aircraft and they are also the manufacturers of the Blades that are now approved for single seaters. Available from Phoenix Aero in Cornwall.

AV18 flies at Aberporth

G-CDXV being flown at Aberporth with Tony Melody, Andy Jones and Tim. Instruction and conversion was the order of the day. Great to see another of these wonderful little aircraft in the air.
